Radon-proof thick AlphaSeal coating for a safe home

The radon-proof 2-component AlphaSeal coating can be used for a wide range of applications. The polymer-modified thick coating (FPD) can be used as an interior and exterior building sealant on horizontal and vertical surfaces as well as for building restoration.

As a hybrid sealant, AlphaSeal combines the advantages of a polymer-modified bitumen thick coating (PMBC) and a flexible, mineral sealing slurry (MDS).

The AlphaSeal complies with the DIN EN 14909 and DIN EN 13967 standards.

When laying the AlphaBlock 4+ radon foil, AlphaSeal sealing slurry is used to bond the foil to the corresponding parts of the building in a radon-proof manner.

CONSUMPTION & DURABILITY

A fresh layer of 1.02 mm results in a dry layer of approx. 1 mm. The consumption therefore corresponds to 1.07 kg/m².
When bonding the AlphaBlock 4+ radon foil, a fresh layer of 4 mm (3 mm dry layer) and a consumption of approx. 4 kg/m² must be expected.
The additional consumption of approx. 1 - 1.5 kg/m² for scraping and filling fillers and processing-related fluctuations must be calculated additionally.
The original sealed container has a shelf life of at least 12 months. It must be stored in a dry, cool but frost-free place.

AlphaSeal cannot be shipped below 5°C as we cannot guarantee the quality of the product beyond doubt due to the possible risk of frost during shipping.

WHAT IS RADON?

What makes radon so dangerous?

Radon is a highly carcinogenic, radioactive noble gas
that you cannot see, smell or taste. If you breathe in high levels of radon and its radioactive by-products over a longer period of time, the risk of developing lung cancer increases considerably.

After smoking, radon is one of the most important causes of lung cancer. According to current findings, around five percent of deaths from lung cancer in Germany (over 1,900 per year) are attributable to radon and its decay products in buildings.

Take precautionary measures!

Only by measuring can you be sure of the actual radon levels in a building. Small measures are often all that is needed to significantly reduce indoor radon levels and the risk of lung cancer.

How long does the seal with RadonTec AlphaSeal last?

Yes, RadonTec AlphaSeal can be applied at temperatures from +2°C. It sets quickly and is rainproof after just a few hours, which means it can also be used in cooler weather conditions.
